TWO DAY WORKSHOP IN ANALYSIS AND ALGEBRA

Bhaskaracharya Pratishthana, Pune will be organizing a “Two-day Workshop in Analysis and Algebra at the P.G. Level.” Experienced teachers from the field of mathematics in and around Pune will guide the students during the programme.

The programme consists of lectures of total duration of 12 hours and will focus on basic topics from Real Analysis and Group Theory. The aim of this mini-workshop is to motivate the students and help them understand the topics in a better manner. The topics will supplement M.Sc. First Year courses taught in the Ist Term. The lectures include useful problems for getting better insight in the subject matter.

The details of the lecture series are as follows :

ELIGIBILITY : Students pursuing M.Sc. I (Mathematics).

DURATION : There will be 4 lectures of 1.5 hours on 10^thSeptember 2017 and 17^thSeptember 2017. (A tentative timetable is attached below)

INTAKE CAPACITY : Maximum 60 participants.

REGISTRATION FEE : 1000/-

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE :

• Candidates interested to participate should fill up and submit online registration form on or before 3^rd September 2017 using the following link : https://goo.gl/xceHix .

• Selected 60 candidates will be informed via email and a list of these participants will be available on www.bprim.org by 6^th September 2017.

• Registration fee should be paid by Cash/Cheque during 7th-9th September in the office hours of BPRIM (11.30 am to 5.30 pm) OR on 10^th September 2014 from 9.00 am to 10.00 am. at Bhaskaracharya Pratishthana, Pune

• Real Analysis – Measurable Sets, Measurablefunctions, Littlewood’s three principles, Functions of Bounded Variation, AbsoluteContinuity.

• Algebra – Groups: Basic concepts of Algebra, Normal Subgroups, Homomorphisms, Isomorphisms, Sylow Theorems, Symmetries.
