Some information about travelling in India:
Towards Allahabad
- The nearest airport to
Allahabad city is at Varanasi. Participants can fly to Delhi airport,
and then fly to Varanasi. They can then be picked up at Varanasi and
driven to Allahabad, which is about five hours away by road. (If they
wish they can sightsee for half a day at Varanasi.) Or
- They can fly
to Delhi, and take (preferably) a night train to Allahabad.
For the return journey- Participants may wish to see the Taj Mahal at Agra.
The most convenient way is to go to Kanpur, and then take a direct
train to Agra.
- Alternatively, one could go to Delhi from Allahabad by
train and then go to Agra by a hired car.
- It is also possible to go
from Allahabad to Bangalore by a train directly.
- Yet again, some
members may want to go to the beaches of Goa, and they can take a
train from Kanpur to go to Goa.
