Workshop on Scilab
Bhaskaracharya Pratishthana, Pune and IIT, Bombay
4 - 7 July, 2009
Scilab is Open source Software for Mathematics, specially for Numerical computations.
The study of the software Scilab is incorporated in the syllabus of some of the Universities in Maharashtra for undergraduate courses. The software is very useful for teaching and learning of Mathematics at the undergraduate level. Also, Scilab is a good alternative to a commercial software like Matlab.
With this view, the current workshop will be useful to College teachers of Mathematics. Lectures and Lab sessions will be arranged to make participants familiar with Scilab. Focus will be on topics such as Linear Algebra and Numerical Analysis.
Prof. Kannan, Prof. Madhu Belur, Prof. Prabhu Ramachandran from IIT Bombay,
